We just met with one of our newest clients yesterday. We showed her a few color schemes for their lake house. This is the one she chose. The solids will be the base fabrics for the chairs and sofas. The patterns will be used for pillows. The top paint color is her existing wall paint and the other paint colors will be used in combinations for her kitchen and as accents throughout the living and dining areas. It is one large open space so everything has to flow together. We still have a lot of work before the design is complete. Right now the lake house is very plain like a builder’s spec house. We will be adding stone and wood beams and lots of other elements to give their home a personal touch. More to come on this client soon!

We all have New Year’s Resolutions. People make resolutions of all types. I know some of mine in the past have ranged from exercising daily, keeping the house straightened and studying the Bible more often. Not one of us is perfect, although some of us think we are
but the truth is: We all have room to improve ourselves.
At L&M, we are always looking at ways to improve ourselves personally and professionally. I get so busy with the ins and outs of every day life that I forget to share with all of you our wonderful designs and ideas. So this year I have decided to be a better blogger. Sounds kind-of silly right? Well maybe it is, but this is my first “real” blog entry. Maybe you can help keep me accountable.
We received some new fabrics in our office yesterday. Thought you might be interested in seeing some of the new prints and colors: Do you see anything you like? Crystal

Every kid loves to have their own play room. A room that they can throw their toys around, have fun colors on the wall and most importantly, have fun.
.
Kids playrooms can be a simple room to watch TV and play with toys, or it can include an arts and crafts area and even a slide.

When you have limited space and you need to fit multiple people into one room, having bunk beds is always a good option. Unlike the classic free standing bunk bed, today they have progressed into a built in piece of furniture.
Bunk rooms are perfect for kids rooms, or even a room at the lake.
They can hold multiple people, while still being spacious and fun.
Windows make this bunk feel extra spacious.
Drapery panels for the bunk gives each person the option for privacy.
Adding stairs between the bunk, instead of a ladder on the outside, provides more room and easier access.
Bunks on either side of the room provides more living space for everyone.
These sophisticated bunks would be great for young adults.
Whether you have a small or large kitchen, kitchen islands are convenient for extra storage and prep space.
If a kitchen is big enough, they are also great for bar seating.
.
Kitchen islands can be built in all different shapes and sizes depending on the home owners needs.
Here are some inspiration pictures of different style islands.
The next few pictures are from L&M kitchen renovations.
Here at L&M Interior Design, we love to work on kitchen renovations.
We often have large scale renovations and then we also have “fancy facelifts.”
Here are a few of our kitchen renovations, and a few fancy facelifts.
Enjoy!
Kids bedrooms are a great place to have fun with color, pattern and texture.
These inspiration pictures show a few girls and boys bedrooms that did just that.
